Teddy Clinic: a pretend vet game for age 3 and up
The soft toys are feeling poorly and your child is the vet. A quiet game that can run beside you while you cook or get on with something.
- From age 3
- 15 min
- Indoors
- Pretend
- No prep
You need
- Soft toys
- Flannels or clean socks for bandages
- Paper and a crayon
The steps
-
Line the soft toys up in the waiting room.
-
Call the first patient in and ask what hurts.
-
Wrap a flannel round the sore paw or tummy and tuck the end in.
-
Draw a get-well note for each patient, then call the next one.
Keep an eye on
Bandages are flannels or socks, tucked in and not tied, and only for the toys: on a paw or a tummy, never round a neck.
To keep it going
Swap roles: you bring a toy in and describe a very silly illness.
