Last updated: 13 October 2026. This policy describes version 2.0 of the BusyBees app.

BusyBees gives parents screen-free play ideas for their children. It is made for grown-ups, not children, and it is not in Apple's Kids Category. This page says in plain English what we collect, why, who receives it, and what you can do about it.

Who we are. BusyBees is run by Boroto Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15171190. Our registered office is 10 Church Square, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 1AE, United Kingdom. You can reach us at contact@yektad.com.

The short version

• You can use BusyBees without creating an account and without giving a child's name. An age is all we ask for.
• BusyBees uses artificial intelligence (AI) to write and draw fresh play ideas. Nothing is sent to an AI company until you tick a box to agree, and you can switch it off again at any time. The ready-made games work without it.
• BusyBees does not keep the photos you take.
• We do not sell your data, and there are no adverts in the app.
• We only measure our own adverts if you tap "Allow" on Apple's tracking question.
• You can delete everything from inside the app at any time.

How we use AI, and who receives your information

Fresh ideas are written by one AI model and their pictures are drawn by another. Before any of your information is sent, the app shows you what will be sent and to whom, and asks you to tick a box. If you do not agree, BusyBees still works with its ready-made games. It just cannot make ideas for your family or look at a photo.

• Anthropic (Claude) writes the ideas. It receives your children's ages, what they love, what you have at home, and the choices you make in the app, such as the mood you picked and the kinds of play you have switched off. It receives a first name or nickname only if you have added one. Choose "No names" and no name is sent. It receives a photo only when you use photo ideas. Anthropic deletes what it receives within 30 days, unless something is flagged as breaking its rules or the law requires it to be kept, and it does not use it to train its AI models.
• Google (Gemini) draws the pictures. It receives a written description of a scene, such as "a cardboard castle with toy animals". We do not send it your children's ages or names, or your photos. Google may keep these requests for up to 55 days.

To switch AI off, open Family and turn off "Use AI to make ideas". It takes effect at once: fresh ideas and photo ideas stop, and nothing more is sent. The ready-made games carry on. If you switch it back on, the app shows the permission question again and waits for you to tick the box.

Pictures drawn for fresh ideas are kept on our servers so that the same scene is not drawn twice. They show a scene, such as toys on a rug. They are not linked to your account.

What we collect, and why

• About your children: an age for each child, what they love and, only if you choose, a first name or nickname. This is used to choose ideas that fit them.
• Your answers and choices: the few questions you answer at the start, your language, the kinds of play you have switched on or off, the ideas you keep, the games you mark as played, and the sticker chosen for each. This is what makes the app yours and fills the hive. The hive, your answers, your language and your kinds of play are kept on your phone. The ideas you keep are also saved to your account.
• Photos: a photo you take or choose for photo ideas is sent to be looked at, and a list of what is in it comes back. BusyBees does not keep the photo. Anthropic, which looks at it, deletes what it receives within 30 days, as described above.
• An account id: when you first open the app it makes a temporary account, with no name and no email, so your choices can be saved. The account is a random id and nothing more. It stays temporary until you sign in. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the identifier and the email address that Apple or Google gives us. Apple lets you hide your email.
• When you agreed to things: the date and time you ticked the AI permission box, and the date and time you ticked the promise that a grown-up is responsible for safety and supervises play. We keep the version of the wording you agreed to and the language it was shown in, so we can show what you were told.
• Family links: if two parents share a family, we keep which two accounts belong to it, and the invitation code while it is still valid.
• Your plan: whether you have a plan, which one, and the transaction reference, so we can give you what you paid for. Apple takes the payment. We never see your card.
• Top-ups: if you buy more fresh ideas, we keep a record of the purchase, how many ideas it added, and how many you have left.
• How much the app is used: a count of requests for each family, by day and by month, to work out how many fresh ideas you have left and to stop misuse.
• Ideas you report: see "If you report an idea" below.
• Advert measurement, only with your permission: if you tap "Allow" on Apple's tracking question, your phone's advertising identifier and the fact that you installed the app, opened it or started a plan are sent to Meta, so we can tell which of our adverts worked. RevenueCat, which looks after plans, then also receives the advertising identifier so that it can tell Meta when a plan starts. If you tap "Ask App Not to Track", none of this is sent and Meta's software in the app is never started.

We do not collect your location, your contacts, or anything about your health.

Children's information

BusyBees is used by adults. Anything about a child is entered by a parent or carer, is kept to the minimum, and is used only to choose ideas. It is never used for advertising and never sold. Advert measurement only ever covers an adult installing the app or starting a plan, never what a child does in it.

Sharing with your partner

If you invite another adult to your family, they can see and change the same children and kept games as you. You sign in with Apple or Google before you can invite. The invitation works once and expires after 48 hours.

Either of you can end it at any time: open Family and tap "Stop sharing". You both keep the children's details. The kept games stay with the parent who sent the invitation, and the plan stays with the parent who pays for it.

The hive is kept on each phone and is not shared.

If you report an idea

Every game has a "Report this idea" link. When you use it, we receive the text of the game, the reason you chose, the language, and the age of your youngest child. No account details are attached, so we cannot tell who sent it. If the AI wrote a child's name into the game, that name is part of the text we receive.

We use reports to check and improve the ideas. We keep a report for up to 12 months after we have looked at it.

The companies that help us run BusyBees

• Supabase stores your account, your children's details, your kept games and the records described above, in the United Kingdom.
• Anthropic and Google provide the AI, as described above.
• Apple takes payments and provides sign-in. Google also provides sign-in, if you choose it.
• RevenueCat keeps track of whether a plan is active and of top-up purchases. To understand what leads people to choose a plan, it also receives three labels: the app's language, which plan screen you were shown, and whether the AI is switched on. Nothing about your children is sent to it.
• Meta receives advert measurement, only if you allowed tracking.
• Expo delivers updates to the app.
• Vercel hosts this website.

Some of these companies process information outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards the law provides for such transfers. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

How long we keep it

• Your account, your children's details and your games are kept until you delete them.
• A temporary account that was never signed in and has not been used for 12 months is deleted.
• Photos are not kept by BusyBees at all.
• The record of when you agreed to the AI permission and to the safety promise is kept for as long as you have an account.
• Reported ideas are kept for up to 12 months after we have looked at them.
• Plan and top-up records are kept for as long as accounting law requires. When you delete your account, our own purchase records no longer say whose they were.

Your choices

• Delete everything: Family, then Delete account. This removes your account, your children's details and your games from your phone and from our servers. If you share a family with a partner, they keep the children's details and the kept games. Deleting does not cancel a plan. You do that in your iPhone's Settings.
• Switch AI off: Family, then turn off "Use AI to make ideas".
• Stop sharing with a partner: Family, then "Stop sharing".
• Stop names being sent: Family, then tap a child, then choose "No names".
• Tracking: answer Apple's question, or change it later in your iPhone's Settings, under Privacy and Security, then Tracking.
• Anything else: write to contact@yektad.com and we will answer within one month.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, receive a copy of it, object to how it is used, and withdraw any permission you have given. We rely on your permission for AI, for advert measurement and for optional details such as a child's name, and on our contract with you to provide the plan you pay for.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

This website

With your permission, this website uses Google Analytics to count visits. If you say no, or do not answer, it is not loaded. Your answer is remembered in your browser so we do not ask on every page. You can change it with the "Analytics choice" link at the bottom of any page.

We also keep a simple count of visits of our own. It records the page, the website you came from, and whether you are on a phone or a computer. It uses no cookies and keeps nothing in your browser, so it cannot recognise you next time.

Changes

If we change what we collect or who receives it, we will update this page and, where the change matters, ask for your permission again in the app.
